Senior Merch Graphic Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Beyond Studios is looking for a Senior Merch Graphic Designer obsessed with making things people actually want to wear.

You’ll work across some of the biggest brands in culture, turning ideas, references, and brand worlds into merchandise that feels unexpected, culturally relevant, and undeniably good.

This is a highly hands-on design role. You should be just as comfortable building the concept for an entire collection as you are obsessing over the typography on a tee, distressing a graphic, developing a patch, or figuring out exactly how something should be embroidered, printed, washed, or constructed.

We’re looking for someone with exceptional design craft, incredible taste, and a deep understanding of merchandise and apparel. someone who can take a project from a blank page to a finished collection.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Concept and design merchandise collections from start to finish.
• Create graphics across tees, hoodies, hats, outerwear, accessories, packaging, and physical products.
• Turn brand identities and cultural references into merchandise that feels original, exciting, and elevated from traditional corporate swag.
• Develop collection concepts, visual directions, moodboards, graphics, typography, illustrations, treatments, and presentation decks.
• Design across different aesthetics and brands while maintaining a strong point of view and high level of craft.
• Think beyond the front of a T-shirt, considering garment, fabrication, placement, trims, embroidery, print techniques, washes, labels, hardware, and packaging as part of the design.
• Work closely with Creative Directors and ACDs to take creative direction and push it further.
• Own your projects and execute at a senior level with minimal hand-holding.
• Prepare production-ready artwork and work with production teams to make sure the final physical product lives up to the design.

• Move between larger collection builds and fast-turn creative requests without sacrificing quality.
• Bring new references, ideas, techniques, and an obsessive awareness of what is happening across fashion, music, sports, entertainment, art, and culture.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 4+ years of professional design experience, with significant experience designing merchandise, apparel, or culturally driven consumer products.
• An exceptional portfolio of real, executed work demonstrating advanced graphic design craft and a clear understanding of merchandise.
• Expert-level typography, composition, color, image-making, and graphic development skills.
• Deep proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop, with working knowledge of InDesign and Figma.
• The ability to create across multiple visual styles rather than relying on one signature aesthetic.
• Strong understanding of how a 2D design becomes a physical product.
• Experience with apparel graphics, print techniques, embroidery, garment treatments, trims, or production is strongly preferred.
• The ability to concept not just execute someone else's idea.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• The ability to work quickly, take feedback, iterate, and keep pushing until the work feels finished.
• A genuine obsession with design and culture and a strong instinct for what people would actually want to wear.

This is not a general graphic design position. We are specifically looking for designers with significant professional experience creating merchandise and apparel graphics.

Your portfolio is the most important part of your application. It should clearly demonstrate senior-level design craft, original thinking, and real merchandise/apparel work. Applications without a portfolio, or portfolios that do not demonstrate relevant professional experience, will not be considered.

Knowing how to put a logo on a T-shirt isn't enough.

We want designers who know how to turn an idea into something people need to own.
